To prepare for these classes, you should: * Be familiar with a wide range of Malinke Rhythms * Be comfortable playing Dunun (Dance of the Strong Men) rhythms * Have MASTERED the 6/8 Kenkeni patterns and "off" djembe accompaniment parts Registration required. NAMORY KEITA'S 2010 SPECIAL ADVANCED CLASSES When: Monday, May 17, 2010 through Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Where: Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, Round Lake Beach, IL Right next to the Round Lake Beach Metra Stop on the North Central Line Cost: $80.00 per person per day (Monday & Tuesday) as space allows. Dununs for the class will be provided. Breaks provided for lunch. We usually have lunch delivered from Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop at JimmyJohns.com Time: Monday & Tuesday 10:30am-3:00pm (4 hours of instruction) Note: space is limited for all workshop sessions; priority will be given to those who register for multiple days.
